*Peat is a start-up micro-hauling business based in New York City. We partner with restaurants and food distributors to pick up their food waste and divert it from landfills. *

The Hauler will be responsible for collecting compost toters at food establishments in New York. They will be responsible for tasks like loading and unloading toters, weighing toters, speaking with customers, driving a delivery vehicle around New York, moving, staging, and washing compost toters, utilizing hauling software, and any other duties deemed necessary to support our operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Safely drive delivery vehicle to customer sites around New York.
Load and unload hauling vehicles and toters.
Wash, rinse, and stage toters for hauling routes.
Dump toters at waste processing facilities.
Utilize hauling software.
Ensure we have the equipment necessary for the hauling route.
Track inventory.
Wash vehicles as necessary.
Serve as a helper on hauling routes.
Deliver mushrooms to customer sites.
Any other duties deemed necessary for successful operations.

Requirements:
You must have a valid driver's license.
You must be 21 years of age or older.
You must live in New York State.
Fully vaccinated
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects. Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
Comfortable utilizing portable customer service technology.
Reliable, dependable, and on time.
Comfortable handling food scraps and waste.
Ability to drive a delivery vehicle in New York.
Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions (4+ hours).
Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedules, per the needs of the business.
Able to perform essential job functions under pressure, and maintain professionalism when working under stress.

Hours:
The Hauler role schedules are varied. Our schedules are typically three shifts, morning, afternoon, and evening. Availability during the morning shift (6:00 am - 11:00 am) is the current priority. We are flexible with our Hauler scheduling and shifts in general as long as we can meet the needs of our customers.

Pay:
$25/hr
