Imagen Technologies is a high growth healthcare startup enabling patients to be diagnosed, treated, and managed at their primary care appointment (vs. having to refer out to hospitals, imaging centers and other slow and expensive options). Today, we’ve built an AI-enabled platform that enables patients to receive immediate diagnostic tests, immediate results, and immediate next steps – all in a single Primary Care appointment. For example: through our platform, women across the U.S. are now receiving comprehensive breast imaging, results, and specialist-driven next steps at their local Primary Care office, condensing a multi-month diagnostic journey into 60 minutes.

With over $160m in funding from Google Ventures and some of the largest clinical networks in the country, we are rapidly expanding this platform across the U.S. - from 16 states and 500,000 patients in 2023, to 20+ states and 1.5M patients in 2024. By 2026, we will be delivering care across 35 states and to more than 5m patients per year.

We’re looking for an infrastructure-focused Software Engineer to join our lean, highly influential team. In this role, you’ll own the cloud infrastructure and applications that support our medical imaging business, as well as build products to enable our customers to improve the quality of care they provide. You’ll also construct and scale the cloud infrastructure with automation and antifragile architecture which support our services.

If you are deeply passionate about leveraging technology to make a meaningful impact, you could be a great fit for this role. This role plays a pivotal part in creating innovative solutions and ultimately driving our mission forward and improving patient outcomes

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality work. You will own and drive the technical vision of the systems and solutions that impact business outcomes for the company
  • Architect, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure tailored for medical image diagnostics services and adjacent products that help our customers provide better care for their patients
  • Ensure industry best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST and FDA guidelines, in the design, development, security and operation of cloud-based systems
  • Advance the adoption and maturity of DevOps practices within the organization, focusing on efficiency and reliability of the software build and delivery pipeline
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment of software and infrastructure changes
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the performance and availability of critical healthcare services
  • Lead incident response efforts during critical system events, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on patient care. Implement disaster recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss and ensure continuous availability of healthcare services
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure and pipeline as code, ensuring consistent and reproducible deployments. Automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources using tools such as Terraform, Python, etc.
  • Build solutions and self-service tools for recurring/operational activities

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (2+ of them in DevOps/SRE) in an agile environment with exposure to best practices, ideally across various teams and environments.
  • Strong proficiency in software design/programming and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools, Terraform is a plus
  • Experience in building highly available architectures (auto-scaling, containerized and serverless) in the cloud. AWS experience preferred.
  • Detail and execution-oriented, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working in healthcare (or life sciences) is a plus, experience working with software as medical devices a plus.
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable experience
