Sleuth is looking for a Founding Engineer to join as our first full-time developer and engineering lead. We are excited for you to join us: we want to be a company engineers love.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join an early stage startup with validated and market-tested ideas for a breakthrough product.

As our engineering leader, you will likely choose to add one additional engineer and you will have support from consulting engineers and designers available (and budgeted).

We have built extensive prototypes, including our current site, but you are responsible to lead the creation of our first full product. You have no code to inherit.

Sleuth will start as a web application, and you should be comfortable to handle the backend and infrastructure to build, test, and iterate in that environment. Because of our focus on data, our Founding Engineer should have strong backend expertise with some fullstack experience. You should be comfortable with SQL and NoSQL database applications, caching & scalability. You should also be able to interact with modern Javascript libraries and tooling built by others, and you should be thoughtful about UX.

In general, we are programming language and front-end framework agnostic. We want to use the best tools for our growing product and team. Finally, we are sure you will have strong views about engineering team hiring, process, and management - not to mention our product - and we welcome them!
